For August, the Kingsville Food Bank is asking for donations of Kraft Dinner, canned fruit, canned pasta, granola bars, small jars of mayonnaise & Sidekicks. As always, every donation is most appreciated.
The UCW is eager to get into action and has found a new service project to support our community. It is a great project because it is easy, and everyone can participate. The hospital needs small care packages for people who come to the hospital without any supplies. We are collecting travel size products to be included in the bags. Items for men and women are required such as travel size shampoo, Chapstick/Lip Balm, travel size deodorant, hairbrush or comb, travel size body wash, regular size toothbrush, travel size toothpaste and bar soap (regular size). Please note that unscented products are preferred. A box will be placed in Wesley Hall for donations.

Our church, located in Kingsville, Ontario, Canada, has a long history, with roots dating back to 1817 when a small log Methodist chapel was built in the Kingsville area. Property for the church at its current location was purchased in 1891 and construction completed in 1893. In honour of John Wesley, the founder of Methodism, the new church was called Epworth Methodist Church, after his birthplace of Epworth Rectory in England. After the union of the Methodists, Presbyterians and Congregationalists in 1925, the name became Epworth United Church. A devastating fire in 1935 destroyed a large portion of the old church. The current structure is the result of a rebuilding effort that began the same year and completed in 1936.

Our minister and Epworth volunteers provided in-house worship in long term care and retirement homes in Kingsville, namely Royal Oak, Southgate and Kingsville Court.
Sunday school is held during the morning worship service. Before the pandemic, the kids also participated in other activities such as the Stone Soup story, the distribution of palm crosses on Palm Sunday and the Epworth Extravaganza. Hopefully these activities will resume in the future.
Stay tuned for the next one.
Our purpose is to unite women of the congregation for the total mission of the church and to provide a medium through which they may experience loyalty to Jesus Christ in Christian witness, study, fellowship and service.
Through Plan International Canada Inc., we give financial support to two foster children, Alfredo from Ecuador and Dieuferson from Haiti. The financial support helps supply food, education and good health care. Alfredo is nine years old and attends primary school. His subjects are math and PE/sport. Dieuferson is eight years old and attends primary school. His favourite subject is math. We receive reports, translated letters, and pictures of these children that are posted on our bulletin board for all to read.
